Camellia Trail:

A Community Art Project

The Camellia Trail is a Paint-by-number collaboration and celebration of our City’s official flower.

The creative community process

  • Gil Reynold's Camellia Painting

    1. Local artist paints camellia.

NPAC commissioned Camellia paintings from six local artists.

  • Digitized version of Camellia

    2. Artwork is digitized into paint-by-number.

Original paintings are simplified into line drawings and blocks of color.

  • NPAC tracing painting.

    3. NPAC traced and numbered it.

Our public art council members took turns tracing the work onto a 4x4’ plywood mini mural.

  • Newberg community members painting mural

    4. Newberg community members made it beautiful!

Hundreds of neighbors added their unique brush strokes to each mural at community events.

  • Camellia work in progress

    5. Mini-murals became the Camellia Trail.

In collaboration with downtown businesses, NPAC displayed mini-murals for all to enjoy.
